THE FOUNDATION GRANTS NEW HEATING BLANKETS FOR THE HEMODIALYSIS DEPARTMENT OF THE GASPÉ HOSPITAL

The Fondation Santé Côte-de-Gaspé is proud to inform the population of the Gaspé territory that it is renewing the grant for heating blankets for the hemodialysis department of the Gaspé Hospital. This is a grant estimated at $500. The blankets bring a lot of comfort to users during their treatments, which take place three times a week.

Hemodialysis consists of the purification of blood derived from the body and returned to the patient after the elimination of toxic waste. When blood returns to the body, it cools slightly, which can lead to hypothermia. Being able to benefit from a heating blanket during treatments allows users to maintain a comfortable body temperature for the duration of the treatment.

This is a great example of the Foundation's use of donations to improve the quality of care, health and social services for our entire community!
